CWA Offers Free Career Development Program
CWA will start another round of our for impoverished women and men in our Bay Area communities! Every Saturday, beginning March 25 – April 29, 2017, Merritt College in Oakland, will host our workshop series.
About our Program:
CWA Career Development and Economic Empowerment Program (CDEEP) is an 8 week, Saturday Only, workshop that educates & enriches the lives of women andmen who are victims of violence & human trafficking, unemployed, veterans, disabled, formerly incarcerated, in recovery, or homeless; contributing to their overall well-being and helping them gain, maintain, & advance in employment that lead to wellness & recovery, and full self-sufficiency. We infuse Career Development training with Esteem building through our CWA designed, “Speak to the Heart from the Heart” model.
Over 60% of our participants have successfully gained employment or advanced in their careers, while approximately 18% have continued their education based upon the resources, tools, and skills provided them.
Our workshop culminates in a formal graduation ceremony, attended by our City Council leaders, and concludes with an exclusive job fair where participants can apply what they’ve learned through our system. In addition, participants receive a wealth of incentives that build hope and confidence, upon completion of our program including: an entire wardrobe of FREE suits, childcare, business essentials from our major sponsor, Blaisdell’s Business Products, Free Computers by CTRC Computers, and more.
